We have chosen the word NOSTOS as the name of our restaurant for one simple reason. This word is related to the Greek word nostalgia, meaning the return trip to one's home and roots. Our purpose is to make the return trip home, in flavor, with good simple and authentic Greek cooking, that will entice your senses and broaden your taste palette.
We feel the word NOSTOS in our hearts, because it is in the heart of every single person of the Greek diaspora. It is transferred from generation to generation, to remind everyone that Ulysses is not alone in his journey but has the company of thousands, millions of Greeks throughout the world who have the thirst to begin the long road home just like him.

Greek cuisine has common characteristics with the traditional cuisines of Italy and the Balkans. We make wide use of vegetables, olive oil, grains, fish, wine, and meat (white and red, including lamb, poultry and pork). Other important ingredients include olives, cheese, eggplant (aubergine), zucchini (courgette), lemon juice, vegetables, herbs, bread and yoghurt. The most commonly used grain is wheat; barley is also used. Common dessert ingredients include nuts, honey, fruit and phyllo pastry

Wine and olive oil have always been a central part of it and the spread of grapes and olive trees in the Mediterranean and further afield is correlated with Greek colonization.
